Some Virgen De Guadalupe videos.








In this video the people are singing to Our Lady of Guadalupe "Las MaƱanitas" ;a traditional Mexican birthday song. During the night of December 11 famous singers from Mexico come to the basilica and sing songs related to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Viva La Virgen De Guadalupe!



We will be celebrating her feast by going to church today at 10:30 pm and singing to her until 12:00 am. Tomorrow matachines ( dancers dressed in traditonal indian dress ) will dance in honor of the Holy Virgin, followed by a procession, and last we will celebrate the Holy Mass. Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!

Dia de La Candelaria

Today is el dia de la Candelaria or in English, Candlemass. During this day Mexicans take thier statues of baby Jesus to church just like Mary did in the temple. Jesus is also dressed in beautiful outfits.

Dia de Los Santos Reyes Magos (Epiphany)






Today is Epiphany or as know in Mexico the Feast of Three Kings. On this day Mexicans eat the Rosca de Reyes ,a type of cake. Inside the rosca is a baby Jesus who ever finds the baby has to throw a party on February 2 , the feast of the Presentation. In Mexico this is know as el dia de la candelaria. During this day people dress thier baby Jesus with outfits.
